Téton, série des prêles by Christiane FILLIATREAU
Christiane Filliatreau mainly uses two hand-modelling techniques to create her ceramic sculptures:
- The dumpling technique
- The coil technique
These methods emphasise the movement and touch of the fingers, allowing the artist to feel, roll, press, scrape, smooth and assemble the elements. Christiane Filliatreau prefers these manual techniques to the potter's wheel, as they allow her to have more direct contact with the material and develop more organic and sculptural forms.
